Health Promotion Clinics
The practice runs health promotion clinics in line with the GMS contract which include:
Asthma/COPD Clinic
These clinics are established to ensure that patients with respiratory problems are being managed appropriately and provided with optimum treatment. Our nurses/GP who run these clinics have been trained in the management of the conditions.
Diabetic Clinic
This clinic is available for all diabetic patients, and is run by the doctors and practice nurses who have been trained in diabetes. If you are diabetic and have not yet been sent an appointment to attend, please contact reception to make one.
Antenatal Clinics
Midwives are now operating from Ward 6, Whiteabbey Hospital their phone number is 028 90 552272 please contact to organise an appointment.
Minor Surgery
Our minor surgery and cryo clinic are up and running again, please speak to reception as these are by appointment only.
Coronary Care/Prevention
This clinic is aimed at the detection and prevention of heart and associated diseases. Cholesterol, blood pressure and lifestyle screening is carried out at this clinic by our practice nurses.
Child Assessment Clinics
Where possible please attend with 1 parent.
These are held when your baby is eight weeks old and for pre-school children approximately at four years of age. Your child will be assessed by one of your practice doctors assisted by one of the Primary Health Care Team.
Your child's first immunisation and pre-school immunisation will be offered at this clinic. An appointment card will be sent to you when the assessment is due. If the appointment time is unsuitable please contact reception to make alternative arrangements.
Immunisation Clinic
You may be sent an appointment or may phone yourself if your child is due an immunisation.
Cancer Patients
Cancer patients are reviewed regularly by the GPs and practice nurses.
A new video about what happens at bowel screening has been produced by the Public Health Agency.
Smoking
If you are interested in stopping smoking please speak to your local Pharmacy in the first instance.
Travel Clinic
The practice provides only NHS funded travel vaccinations and advice. Please note travel vaccinations may take 4 to 6 weeks so please give ample time prior to your departure. Due to the pressure on our services we unfortunately cannot provide travel services with less than 2 weeks notice. Cervical Screening
This is carried out by our practice nurses for ladies between 25 and 64 years of age. A computerised letter will be sent when it is time for your appointment or, alternatively, you may contact reception to make one. Please let reception know if the appointment you have been sent is unsuitable.
